Purpose

The Men's Breakfast Group meets monthly to share good food, good fellowship, and good fun. The primary purpose of the group is to provide the men of our church with an opportunity to share Christian fellowship around the breakfast table while sharing individual perspectives and opinions on the designated discussion topic of the day.
The men take over the kitchen when we meet, as we cook our own breakfast meal. We have discovered that there are several very talented cooks in our midst. We always share a laugh or two, and generally enjoy a spirited discussion after eating a fine breakfast meal. Discussion topics vary. We have talked about everything ranging from politics to missions, from how United Methodism relates to other world religions to the potential success of an upcoming Green Bay Packer season. Unfounded rumors abound regarding a secret Men's Breakfast handshake.
While our group has specifically chosen not to be a service organization, we are, on occasion, lead by the Spirit to reach out to others in our church community. Our annual pancake breakfast is a fundraiser for youth activities in our church. We found that some of our members were equally skilled with saws and hammers on the construction site as they were with spatulas and ladles in the kitchen. In conjunction with our Men's Choir, we have co-sponsored church outings to Milwaukee Brewer games. And, we sponsor an all-church Christmas Caroling excursion to visit church shut-ins in December.

Program Details

The Men's Breakfast Group meets at 7:00 a.m. on the second Sunday of every month (except in May*) at the church for breakfast followed by a round-table discussion on the topic of the day. All men of the church are welcome. Regular attendance averages around 16-20, and new members are always welcome to join us. We always have plenty of good food. Like many groups at Trinity Pilgrim, this is a "come when you can" group. Oh yes, and women are not welcome. This is truly a guy thing!
* The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day. We learned our lesson the hard way that this is not a good time for the Men's Breakfast to meet! So, we meet on the third Sunday of the month.
